New developement snapshot.

So current version of therion should support centerline with LRUD in map editor. As usually - it is implemented easiest way for programmer :) with minimal changes in current interface. So how it works: 1. Therion supports new map format export - xvi (xtherion vector image). 2. XTherion can load xvi images into backgroud, as any other bitmap image. There are some special bindings for vector images - e.g. if you insert point on station, type and station name are automatically set. When exporting xvi images - they are exported in 100dpi in layout-scale. Grid spacing is also taken from layout X grid-size. Waiting for feedback and comments :) S.

Locales of my Slack installation are also set to CZ. L.

windows binary translated
by Roman Muñoz 21 Feb '05

21 Feb '05

Hi all, I managed to get windows binary translated. Simply rename a translated /therion/xtherion/xtherion file as xtherion.tcl and use it overwrite installed windows binary's one. Et voila! :) BTW, .iss scripts don't worked for me: First I needed to realize that there are more .iss files than common.iss Then I found therion.iss in therion's source (from tar.gz). Then I needed edit it to get no complain about application number, and wish.exe being now wish84.exe. Then I had to install windows binary and update to get therion.exe and thbook.pdf from it, and xtherion tcl from my own translated and renamed one. So I compiled it but after install it looks for wish.exe: If you point him to wish84, he asks for tcl84.dll... then I tried the wild way. I'll do a final test of translation prior to putting it all on wiki. Regards, Roman

Segfault when including survey data in plan
by Wookey 17 Feb '05

17 Feb '05

I noted the bit in the map defiition which says I can can include names of surveys in the map command so that the centrelines are drawn. I tried this with the terikan survey and therion just says 'error' in the compiler and doesn't say what. Running Therion standalone shows that it is segfaulting. You should be able to demonstrate this with the dataset I uploaded last night. Comment out the join soundrivercrab_s1 soundriver2_s1 line so it runs, then add the name of a survey (I tried 'river' and 'goon') to theend of the scrap list. Now it crashes. I noticed the bit about -projection being required 'if the map contains survey', but adding "-projection plan" to the map command didn't help. This looks like a bug. And is there some subtlty about adding surveys (centrelines) to maps? xtherion i18n
by Stacho Mudrak 17 Feb '05

17 Feb '05

OK, after studying TclTk manuals a little bit, i18n is already there - no additional packages are needed. All I need to do is to replace each string with [mc <original string>] and define .msg files for each language. With your list of translated strings, it can be done very fast. I will try to do it before weekend starts. Regards, S. -=x=- Skontrolované antivírovým programom NOD32

translating types
by Roman Muñoz 16 Feb '05

16 Feb '05

Hi, translating projection, point, line and area types does not work; when compiling, it complains about this. However, types are important items to translate. I'm on a hurry, because the planned stage is coming, and I've heard about "using AutoCAD", which is for me a big no-no-no. I think I could change this, but I would need translate types as fast as possible. What could I do to get types translated and working? Thanks, Roman

flowstone area needed
by Wookey 14 Feb '05

14 Feb '05

I have a few large areas of flowstone. Defining an area of this type would be good. The only problem is that it really needs some kind of 'directioal' elements so that the flow sysmbols show the correct direction. Still, that could ome later - just having the area would do for now. problem importing .3d file
by Wookey 09 Feb '05

09 Feb '05

OK - I'm trying to use the new import feature in 0.3.6. I'm not sure how the namespace hierarchy works. I have a survex dataset where everything is under terikan so we have major surveys terikan.goon terikan.eagle terikan.eagle2 terikan.elevator terikan.evening etc The .th file looks like: ------ survey tmp import terikan.3d survey terikan -title "Terikan River Caves" -declination [0.511 degrees] map elevatorplan -title "Terikan River Cave: Elevator entrance" goon_s3 break goon_s1 etc... input goon.th2 input soundriver.th2 etc... -------- This fails with: reading source files ... done preprocessing database ... done therion: error -- terikan/terikan.th [3] -- station doesn't exist -- eagle2.15 This is odd because there is no mention of eagle2 in any of the files in this dir. I'm not sure why it gets mentioned. The error is referencing the "import" line. If I comment out everything apart from the import line then the processing completes without error. Adding an empty file that continas nothing more than survey terikan endsurvey terikan will make it break again (same error). Changing the survey name to survey goon endsurvey goon Processes fine. Changing it to survey goon input goon.th2 endsurvey goon Now gives the error: therion: error -- terikan/goon.th2 [10] -- survey does not exist -- goon -- invalid station reference -- 69@goon (see below) Now going back to the original file and moving the input command inside the 'survey terikan' context: ------ survey terikan -title "Terikan River Caves" -declination [0.511 degrees] import terikan.3d map elevatorplan -title "Terikan River Cave: Elevator entrance" goon_s3 ... ------ I get a different error, having got rather further: reading source files ... done preprocessing database ... done scanning centreline tree ... done searching for centerline loops ... done calculating station coordinates ... done calculating basic statistics ... done processing references ... therion: error -- terikan/goon.th2 [10] -- survey does not exist -- goon -- invalid station reference -- 69@goon This suggests that the correct level to import things is inside a survey of the same name as the top level of the .3d file - correct? terikan.goon.69 is a valid station. It is the fiurst station mentioned in the first .th2 file read in. This suggests that it hasn't been read at the right level? Changing to put another .th2 file first changes the error to refer to the first station in that file instead. I'm confused - how should this feature be used? Is there a bug, or am I just doing it wrong? Wookey -- Aleph One Ltd, Bottisham, CAMBRIDGE, CB5 9BA, UK Tel +44 (0) 1223 811679 work: http://www.aleph1.co.uk/ play: http://www.chaos.org.uk/~wookey/
