kml color
by Philippe Vernant 25 Oct '25

Hi guys, I can’t find a way to change the light greyish color of the kml export except by going into the kml file and change it after it has been created. Is there a way to specify the color when creating the kml ? Thanks, Phil

Therion log file truncated prematurely
by Bruce Mutton 20 Feb '24

20 Feb '24

Recently I've noticed some of my therion log files are truncated. They end prematurely. Only happens with some thconfig files and while the location of the truncation is often consistent within each file, it can change with subsequent compile runs as well. Noticed this while trying to debug a presumably unrelated issue. Some examples below. Any insights as to why this might happen? Bruce on Windows 10 Home v 22H2 Another example. therion 6.2.0 (2023-12-21) - using Proj 9.3.0, compiled against 9.3.0 initialization file: C:\Program Files\Therion/therion.ini reading ... done configuration file: thconfig-DwarfsDoor.thc reading ... done reading source files ... done preprocessing database ... done output coordinate system: EPSG:2193 meridian convergence (deg): -0.0685 geomag declinations (deg): 1992.1.1 21.3626 1993.1.1 21.3859 .and the log proceeds normally until a line is truncated mid-sentence. 0.27% 0.4m 146.4m 30 0.2m 0.0m 0.4m [sn45.31(a)118.MiddleEarth - 118.64 - 118.63 - 118.62 - 118.61 - 118.60 - 118.56 - 118.66 - 78.12 = 78.12(a)78.MiddleEarth <mailto:78.12@78.MiddleEarth> - 78.11 - 78.10 - 78.9 - 78.8 - 78.7 - 78.6 - 78.5 - 78.4 - 78.3 - 78.2 - 78.1 - 77.12 = 77.12(a)77.MiddleEarth <mailto:77.12@77.MiddleEarth> - 77.11 In this case some loops are missing and scrap distortions and CRS transformations are missing. But the log file truncation can happen anywhere, as in the screenshot below.

XVI commands: xth_me_area_adjust etc.
by Rich Smith 03 Feb '24

Hi Therion I'm the author of cave surveying app SexyTopo, and I'm trying to write a better Therion exporter. Previously I'd kind of hacked an exporter that did an approximate job, but I'm rewriting it and trying to do a better job. I understand I should generate an XVI file for each projection that represents the sketch. I then need to set this in the th2 file with some commands. For example: ##XTHERION## xth_me_area_adjust -132.0 -156.10532659555793 1768.2371519518056 726.0 ##XTHERION## xth_me_area_zoom_to 100 ##XTHERION## xth_me_image_insert {950.6824683592552 1 1.0} {267.841199967364 5} {blaengwynlais plan.xvi} 0 {} Are these documented anywhere? It seems like xth_me_area_adjust sets the dimensions of the image, and xth_me_image_insert specifies the position and filename, but I'm not clear what all the values represent. Many thanks for any pointers! Rich

Subtypes can't have numbers?
by Rodrigo Severo 14 Jan '24

Hi, Just trying to set a "line u:s41p" symbol on latest Therion and getting strange metapost errors: ! Missing `=' has been inserted. <to be read again> 51 l.6846 let l_u_s51 p = l_u; You should have said `let symbol = something'. But don't worry; I'll pretend that an equals sign was present. The next token I read will be `something'. ! Missing symbolic token inserted. <inserted text> INACCESSIBLE l.6846 let l_u_s51 p = l_u; Sorry: You can't redefine a number, string, or expr. I've inserted an inaccessible symbol so that your definition will be completed without mixing me up too badly. ! Extra tokens will be flushed. <to be read again> p l.6846 let l_u_s51p = l_u; I've just read as much of that statement as I could fathom, so a semicolon should have been next. It's very puzzling... but I'll try to get myself back together, by ignoring everything up to the next `;'. Please insert a semicolon now in front of anything that you don't want me to delete. (See Chapter 27 of The METAFONTbook for an example.) ! Missing `=' has been inserted. <to be read again> 51 l.6847 def l_u_s51 p_legend = l_u_s51p(((-.3,0.5) .. (.3,.3) .. (.7,.7) .. (1... The next thing in this `def' should have been `=', because I've already looked at the definition heading. But don't worry; I'll pretend that an equals sign was present. Everything from here to `enddef' will be the replacement text of this macro. I believe that subtypes aren´t supporting all chars allowed by <keyword> as defined in THBook page 13 (Data types). Is it a bug or am I misreading something? Regards, Rodrigo

Flush logfile output (PR #541) - Therion log file truncated prematurely
by Bruce Mutton 11 Jan '24

11 Jan '24

Thanks Matěj Limited checking suggests therion.log files created with this commit are complete up to the ### end of loop errors ###, although I am expecting scrap distortions and CRS transformations, and there are none. Not sure if this is my oversight or something that should be written and is genuinely missing. Semi-transparent rock borders
by Rodrigo Severo 10 Jan '24

10 Jan '24

Hi, I have some closed rock borders that are opaque as expected when viewing my PDF file in Adobe Acrobat and FoxIT but are semi-transparent in Okular and Atril. Any suggestions on how to make them really opaque (on all PDF viewers)? Regards, Rodrigo Severo

Change altitude colours
by Paul Rowe 01 Jan '24

When using: *colour map-fg altitude* ... is it possible to change the default colours used? I could see notes about setting this scrap by scrap, but not for the automatic graduation of altitude colours. Thanks Paul Rowe
