Transparency and connection issue

Dear All New comer on this forum and new user of Therion for 18 months, I'm currently stucked by 2 issues that are certainly obvious for most of you but after lots of trials I dare to ask you!!! 1- Transparency on colour filled areas: Since I have colored some areas and customized some colors as well, I have lost transparency on overlapping cavities. Despite many trials in the layouts no success.I use in my layout for exemple: #clay-orange def a_clay (expr p) = T:=identity; thfill p withcolor (0.96, 0.82, 0.55); enddef; Result it looks better but it is far more difficult to understand some overlapping areas, see hereunder. I guess if I define a special pattern including 50% of colour and 50% of non-colored pixel it could work but I'm not skilled enough to play with metapost.Any ideas to have the transparency back? 2. Connexions lines for offseted scraps:My project covers a 4 kms cave that I have splitted into 4 sub-projects (called networks), I work in each network and gather them to get final export, usually I use connexion point in the scrap. - Network 1 is above Network 2, therefore in the final presentation I offset Network 2 - Network 2 includes itself offseted areas which appear well when I work on export of Network 2 only. When I compile the global project all connexion's doted lines inside network 2 appears then linked to the shadow of the network 2 offseted from the Network 1 instead of staying linked to the Network 2 representation, result is hawfull with dotted lines crossing every where and ending in the shadow area.Any ideas to maintain local connexion dotted line where they were at the beginning? More on showing only some cross-sections

A few weeks ago I asked about the possibility of creating a map where only some of the cross-sections are shown. It is easy to include or leave out ALL cross-sections, but I would like a way to include only a dozen or so. No one had any usable answers. There was one suggestion about using macros, but not enough detail for me to figure out how to investigate it. It occurs to me that perhaps some of the cross-sections could be put in a custom group or context. So my first questions: Is it possible to create a group or a context? Can I add more than one group or context to a symbol such as a cross-section? Next is a related question. The owner of the cave I am working on is considering creation of a publication of photos they can sell in their gift shop. I think a very useful addition to such a book would be a map showing where the photos were taken. I can, of course, add labels anywhere on the map. The problem is that I want to be able to make maps which do NOT include the photo location symbols. So my next set of questions: Is there a symbol that might be used to indicate location and direction of a photo? Is there a way to group those symbols so they can be left out with something like "symbol-hide group photos"? This might all be more easily done with custom attributes. The Therion Book has only a few short lines about them. Is there more documentation or perhaps some sample code as to how they might be used? And my last question is more general. Is there a list of the predefined contexts and groups? Thanks! =============== Bill Gee

sublime text build

Hello, my name is Ofir Shemesh, caver from Israel. making my first steps in Therion. I'm trying to use Sublime Text <https://www.sublimetext.com/> to edit and *build *therion. wrote a simple custom builder according those instructions <https://www.sublimetext.com/docs/build_systems.html> looks like this: { "file_patterns": ["*thconfig*"], "cmd": ["C:/Users/admin/AppData/Local/Programs/Therion/therion.exe", "$file_name"], "working_dir": "$file_path" } It works! when i open thconfig and build it (tools - build) therion is running and works as expected, and i see therion output in sublime output window but... when i have an error, for some reason i don't see this error in sublime when i run from cmd I do see the error, but from inside sublime the error is not there see below an example, notice the missing error. any ideas why? and how to solve this problem? Radiolocation Fixed Points

Hi, We are facing a problem with Therion and fixed points obtained by radiolocation. This is the survey of a very long siphon taken with the SeaCraft ENC3 tool. There are many many stations saved automatically with the device. We fixed two points determined by radiolocation, one at the beginning of the siphon and another at the end. When after Therion compilatione, the survey is completely distorted. Doesn't the problem come from too many shots and Therion not being able to compensate for the very small shots? Have you encountered this problem before? filtering for export continuation-list

HI Therion friends, A friend posed an interesting question on a data set we hold in Therion. We have entered a lot of leads (point continuation's) in both elevation and plan th2 files. we have come to export these and have found that they are both coming out together, with neither being an exact copy of each other it's hard to tell them apart. *Is there any way you can filter the "export continuation-list" to only output plan continuations?* At present for a workaround, I have suggested exporting to .txt and copy and pasting into excel, so that the list can be filtered. is it possible to filter prior to export? (if not, would it be possible to include an extra column on the export to show which projection the continuation was noted in, eg. plan, extended, elevation [90] - so this can then be filtered in excel/a database). I note that even when using a select from the map structure, therion still defaults to looking at the full .th dataset. Regards, Alastair Gott.

Export centerline and LR (plan) UD (section)

Hello Is there any possibility to export (in any format) the centreline and the LR (for plan)? The data for centreline is units length metersunits compass clino degreesdata normal from to length compass clino 0 1 1.21 137.1 -12.8 1 2 8.75 33.3 1.8 and the data for LRUD is separate, like this: units left right up down metersdata dimensions station left right up down 25 1.23 16.71 16.71 1.4310 3.72 6.73 6.73 1.675 1.32 4.86 4.86 1.06 When i use export map -projection plan \ -output hhh.xvi It exports someting like this, with 2 LR in every station... statistics data in header for atlas survey

hello, when I generate my survey in atlas mode, I have at the end a legend with all symbols, but not the complet header with the comments, and the cave statistics. Is it normal ? Did I need to add special options or commands in my specific layout ? Thanks Gilbert

Loop in survey, how to split the extended view on a specific station ?

Hello, On a cave, when you have a cave with gallery witch interconnect, and you do loops in your survey. For plan survey, no problems, but for extended view, you have to split on gallery or an other because the lenght of the 2 gallerys is not the same. Therion split automatically the extended survey (we can see it on the xvi file), but, can we tell the software in which point we want to split the survey ? can you change the split point ? where ? Altitude point in absolute AND relative in the same survey ?

Hello, the altitude point is very usefull to set the altitude in the final survey. The altitude value is calculated with the Z value of the entrance Point and the depth survey of the station point. OK. But, in my final survey (pdf), can I have the absolute value (from the sea level) and the depht value (from the entrance) in the same time ? exemple : * the entrance of the cave is at altitude 1000m * my station point is at depth -100 I want to have the altitude value "-100" and "900 m" (from the sea level), on 2 specific altitude point, using and option, on the altitude point. Does it existe ? Is it a new issue to create ? Thanks Gilbert

Label and passage height colours
