Hi guys, I can’t find a way to change the light greyish color of the kml export except by going into the kml file and change it after it has been created. Is there a way to specify the color when creating the kml ? Thanks, Phil

Transparency and connection issue
by david Le berre 23 Mar '23

Dear All New comer on this forum and new user of Therion for 18 months, I'm currently stucked by 2 issues that are certainly obvious for most of you but after lots of trials I dare to ask you!!! 1- Transparency on colour filled areas: Since I have colored some areas and customized some colors as well, I have lost transparency on overlapping cavities. Despite many trials in the layouts no success.I use in my layout for exemple: #clay-orange def a_clay (expr p) = T:=identity; thfill p withcolor (0.96, 0.82, 0.55); enddef; Result it looks better but it is far more difficult to understand some overlapping areas, see hereunder. I guess if I define a special pattern including 50% of colour and 50% of non-colored pixel it could work but I'm not skilled enough to play with metapost.Any ideas to have the transparency back? 2. Connexions lines for offseted scraps:My project covers a 4 kms cave that I have splitted into 4 sub-projects (called networks), I work in each network and gather them to get final export, usually I use connexion point in the scrap. - Network 1 is above Network 2, therefore in the final presentation I offset Network 2 - Network 2 includes itself offseted areas which appear well when I work on export of Network 2 only. When I compile the global project all connexion's doted lines inside network 2 appears then linked to the shadow of the network 2 offseted from the Network 1 instead of staying linked to the Network 2 representation, result is hawfull with dotted lines crossing every where and ending in the shadow area.Any ideas to maintain local connexion dotted line where they were at the beginning? Thanks in advance David

Upgrade to Fedora 37 - Problems with proj packages
by Bill Gee 04 Jan '23

04 Jan '23

I think this is not really a Therion problem, but it is likely to affect Therion users who run Fedora. The recent release of Fedora 37 does not have the proj package that Therion requires. Attempting an upgrade gives this: Error: Problem: package therion-6.1.2-1.fc36.x86_64 requires libproj.so.22()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed - proj-8.2.1-6.fc36.x86_64 does not belong to a distupgrade repository - problem with installed package therion-6.1.2-1.fc36.x86_64 -- =============== Bill Gee

by Rodrigo Severo 14 Dec '22

Hi, My updated Therion (therion 6.0.5+839a85d+dev (2022-12-08) - using Proj 9.0.1, compiled against 9.0.1) running on Fedora 37 is refusing to overwrite an existing PDF file as it can be seem on the following log: ##################### end of pdftex log file ##################### therion: error -- filesystem error: cannot copy: File exists [/tmp/th844522/data.pdf] [sdlm-projetado.pdf]writing xtherion file ... done If I delete the previous created PDF file the new one is created without problem. I have never seem that in Therion. Is it a recent bug or some incompatibility with Fedora 37? Regards, Rodrigo Severo

Convert eligible lines to curves
by Mark Dickey 02 Dec '22

02 Dec '22

Good day, *Summary:* I added a new xtherion feature: "Convert eligible lines to curves". I have tested the feature locally and used it to convert almost a thousand poly lines to bezier curves successfully. I created a new git fork of therion and have created a pull request for review and approval. It is at: https://github.com/therion/therion/pull/468 *Detail:* During a recent expedition I had a user change the line creation setting in Topodroid away from bezier. This resulted in almost two weeks of survey data on that device being poly based. While it would be possible to convert lines individually, there were hundreds upon hundreds of lines. I searched the therion book, wiki, and mailing list for tentative solutions. The only reference to this was on the mailing list from years ago and had no solution. I considered writing a parser for the th2 files and running it through a separate algorithm, as well as exporting to svg, converting the lines in illustrator, and then converting to th2...but I decided to add a new feature to Therion to convert all eligible lines from poly to bezier curves. If approved, the new option is found under the "Edit" menu and provides a prompt for confirmation with the count of lines to be converted. While the process is running, there is a progress bar displayed. It takes a long time to run when there is a high volume of points (mostly due to redrawing of points I expect), but just let it go in the background and it'll get there. -- Mark Dickey 914-879-7803 mark(a)markdickey.net
