Change altitude colours
When using: *colour map-fg altitude* ... is it possible to change the default colours used? I could see notes about setting this scrap by scrap, but not for the automatic graduation of altitude colours. Thanks Paul Rowe
Hi Paul,
/colour map-fg altitude/
Yes indeed, you can use a lookup table. https://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/examples#colour_palette_scales_-_lookups https://www.mail-archive.com/therion@speleo.sk/msg06798.html Lookup tables allow you to do specific colouring by maps, or altitude. I have never tried to use it with smooth colouring though, so have no idea how it interacts with that setting. I have only ever used it with: smooth-shading off Enjoy :) Tarquin
Try also layout colour-legend <smooth (=on)/discrete/off> #specifies whether the legend colours are presented as a smoothed vertical band or discrete boxes (smooth applies to altitudes and dates only I think) smooth-shading <off/quick> #specifies whether each scrap is rendered as a single colour or smoothed in accordance with the altitude/date value at each survey station) endlayout Bruce -----Original Message----- From: Therion <therion-bounces@speleo.sk> On Behalf Of Tarquin Wilton-Jones via Therion Sent: Sunday, 31 December 2023 20:26 To: therion@speleo.sk Cc: Tarquin Wilton-Jones <tarquin.wilton-jones@ntlworld.com> Subject: Re: [Therion] Change altitude colours Hi Paul,

Excellent! That's two new things I didn't know how to do. I like the default smoothed legend. I have only altered the colours slightly, including adding in some additional bands. I can see the smoothed colours still works when there's a lookup table for the altitude colours: [image: image.png] Cheers, Paul On Mon, 1 Jan 2024 at 09:21, Bruce Mutton <bruce@tomo.co.nz> wrote:
