tkImg PNG
by Philip Schuchardt 03 Apr '06

I figured it out. If your under gentoo... ./configure make make install Then you must move mv /usr/local/lib64/tkimg-1.3 /usr/lib64/ That should fix the problem.

Therion Packages for Slackware 10.2
by Jonathan Prouty 22 Mar '06

22 Mar '06

Hello All, This is my first post to the list, so I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Jonny Prouty, I'm a geology student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, in (naturally) Chattanooga, Tennessee. I've just recently begun to use Therion and so far I think it's fantastic. Ok, now for the meat of my message. I've created packages for Slackware 10.2of the software that is require or suggested in order to run Survex and Therion. I made them so that I could easily remove the software in case the need should arise. They are binary packages, compiled on a fresh Slackware 10.2 install on an IBM Thinkpad A21e (celeron). I have no idea whether they will work anywhere else. I offer them up just in case they might prove useful. If anyone has any luck with these, please let me know. http://juno.utc.edu/~gqv812/therion.html Sincerely, Jonny Prouty

Metapost changing warningcheck
by Philip Schuchardt 15 Mar '06

15 Mar '06

With a big cave I have scale set to = 1 200. Then I get these warnings from metapost. Is there anyway to set warningcheck to 0? With metapost .60 and above, 4096 isn't really an issue. ------ Error Message ----- The equation I just processed has given some variable a value of 4096 or more. Continue and I'll try to cope with that big value; but it might be dangerous. (Set warningcheck:=0 to suppress this message.) Philip Schuchardt

Run wish and try following commands: package require Img image create photo -file /path/image.png If it will not generate error, then tkImg is OK. > I havent > gotten it to work on any other versions of therion. Currently, I can not see "package require Img" command in xtherion script. May be, you should add it manually to xtherion script or your xtherion.ini. I am not sure, may it it should be "package require tkImg". S.

Some problems with therion
by Wolfgang Zillig 22 Feb '06

22 Feb '06

Hi all, 1. Error in loop mechanism? The absolute, and the x,y,z errors are always the same? I don't believe that this is true. Seem to be a bug (probably from the installed survex?). cavern (survex) 1.0.38 is currently installed ######################### loop errors ########################## REL-ERR ABS-ERR TOTAL-L STS X-ERROR Y-ERROR Z-ERROR STATIONS 0.88% 1.0m 1.0m 10 1.0m 1.0m 1.0m [2(a)michael.Tham-omar-kok - 4 - 44 - 43 - 42 - 41 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 3 - 2] ##################### end of loop errors ####################### 2. In case of a typo between the station list (forgotten tab or blank) no line info is giffen, where the error occurs. It would always be nice for debugging in which line the error occurs. 3. Is it possible to use blanks in survey names (like survey "Tham Nam Eng")? Many thanks Wolfgang
