Hi all, I have a few litlle caves to import in therion, it works fine, on 2 files, but I look for a solution to put both plan and extended elevation on the same pdf, I found the wiki page http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/fr:tbe:wiki7, 7.1 Output, but I don't understand, how the process works. Do you test this solution or do you have an other track ? Regards, C.S.

Difference between Debian and win7
by cawa sorix 19 Dec '12

19 Dec '12

Hi all, I use therion 5.3.10, and a workaround with vertical survey (replace +/-90 with +/-89.99) and vthreshold 90 deg with to stay on LRUD system. But now, with 5.3.10 version, this solution works fine on windows version, but it doesn't work on debian (wheezy/sid and squezze). On attachment a cave test with loch and xvi files, and the result with debian and windows. Do you have the same result on linux ? and do you have an idea to solve this issue ? My main machine is on debian... and I have a few caves to convert to therion :'( Regards, Laurent.

Survex use 0/180° not +90/-90
by cawa sorix 12 Dec '12

12 Dec '12

Hi all, I had an issue today on data with Vulcain topofil data. On Vulcain topofil the clino is from 0 to 180° and 0 = +90 90 = 0 180 = -90 I didn't find anything on survex documentation about that. Do you have any idea about the right setup for the survex line ? I have no idea what is the right word for the ?? Example : units compass grad units clino grad data normal from to fromcount tocount compass ?? left right up down 1-0 1-1 6762.0 6799.0 385.00 119.00 0.40 0.30 1.00 1.00 1-1 1-2 6799.0 6999.0 235.00 106.00 0.40 0.40 0.90 0.20 C.S.

3D on iPad (reposted from Survex mailing list)
by Martin Sluka 04 Dec '12

From: Rowena Larkins <rowena1234(a)hotmail.com> Subject: RE: aven on iPad? Date: 25. listopadu 2012 01:56:08 GMT+01:00 Hi, If you want to be able to see your cave wireframe on an iPad I have had some success with an application called "Viewshape". it is an iPhone app so is a bit clunky on the iPad screen. It loads .obj files not .3d files. I started with a WRL file as generated by Therion, which also generates a 3d aven file. I did the conversions with a program called AccuTrans3D which comes as a 30-day evaluation license. If there are better ways to upload the images to iPad I would love to hear about them. export of dxf data
by Graham Mullan 29 Nov '12

29 Nov '12

As mentioned earlier, I have given a dxf file to someone to see how it imported in their CAD system. It comes into their system OK, but seems to have lost the correct grid co-ordinates, in this case OSGB: ST in doing so. Does anyone else have any experience of this? cavelength and unsurveyed passages
by Martin Gerbaux 28 Nov '12

28 Nov '12

Hi I would like that in the legend, cavelength information corresponds to length of centerlines plus length of other explored passages (referenced as station 2_45 "départ méandre étroit" continuation explored 20m). I did not succeed in getting it many several searches and try. Is there a way to do this ? Regards Martin

pockettopo 1.37
by Bruce 25 Nov '12

25 Nov '12

Hi Beat I just noticed that PocketTopo 1.37 was released last month, so I'll advertise it here on the Therion list. (I'll be pleased not to get stuck at 1:10 scale any more!) We look forward to the results of the Leica Disto X310 project. I notice a correction to Pockettopo's Therion export was made, but no details are provided. http://paperless.bheeb.ch/PocketTopo13.html Was that bug something that will leave behind problems in our data exported with 1.36 versions? (We did not notice anything). And does 1.37 address issues with drawings being flipped when a standalone survey is then connected into the main survey network? Regards Bruce
