I have uploaded a couple of user defined symbols to the Metapost section of the Wiki. I've also added an Asia Pacific project. Dave Clucas dave@daveclucas.com http://daveclucas.com http://mycaves.org
Dear Caving Therion is able to return the volume of the cave? vincenzo martimucci Altamura (BA) - Italy
Therion itself does not provide this output. But VTK toolkit, that is used by Loch, can calulate volume of polygon mesh. It should not be a problem to add this tool to loch viewer, but I am not sure about the precision. Would you like to use it on 3D from scraps ar LRUD data? S.
Being the community we are, we would like the option for both of course :) Personally my preference would be for from the scraps Andrew On 04/12/12 11:40, Stacho Mudrak wrote:

I agree with Andrew the volume from the scraps is better to verify the accuracy we could do some tests on simple geometries VTK toolkit can also calculate a rose diagram of the main directions? vincenzo martimucci Altamura (BA) - Italy
Another possibility could be that volume is calculated by using the splays, meaning that the calculation has to consider the length, compass and clino of each splay. And use LRUD at those stations which have no splay. By the way, it would be useful if it was possible to calculate the horisontal cave area as well, - using scraps. And similar calculations used in morphometric analysis, like different types of cave field. This you may calculate from database data.
Sometime ago I wrote a basic web interface to it, currently it needs mysql, really should make it work with sqlite or some thing that can run locally http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/contrib:databasequery A very out of date example is here http://wotcc.org.uk/Cheddar/ Andrew
