Therion (software) page deleted from Wikipedia

The simple answer to this Martin, is that you need to understand that wikipedia is administered by lunatics. Sad but true. Underscore coming out as period in legend comment
by Andrew Atkinson 29 Apr '13

29 Apr '13

When using map-comment if you put an underscore in it comes out as as period (.) I am trying to include a web address that includes underscore. Metapost tells me that \textunderscore or \_ but that only works in metapost /comment, which is a bit of a pain, and not in map-comment directly. Is there a way of using it directly in map-comment? thanks Andrew

changing wall symbols
by Andrew Atkinson 29 Apr '13

29 Apr '13

Hello On some scales the wall:debris and blocks does not work very well. So I thought that I would change the symbol. So I have been using code metapost let p_gradient = p_entrance_UIS; Which works fine. so copying that I tried code metapost let l_wall_debris = l_wall_UIS; Which had no effect. With a bit more playing I discovered I could not change any wall things like code metapost let l_wall = l_floorstep_UIS; further experiments showed I could not change any line symbol code metapost let l_overhang = l_wall_UIS; one problem is that an error is not generated if you make a typo so I cannot tell if I have the right identifiers. What am I doing wrong? Andrew

Therion (software) page deleted from Wikipedia

From absolutely idiotic reasons the Therion (software) page was deleted from Wikipedia. links: 23:17, 1 March 2013 Secret (talk | contribs) deleted page Therion (software) (Expired PROD, concern was: No evidence of satisfying the notability guidelines. Do you know any way to undelete it? I really don't believe something as this is possible. If you will read the history of that page you'll find the very strong press to remove any meaning about therion (software) from wikipedia from the beginning. Way? I'm absolutely sure the "No evidence of satisfying the notability guidelines. symbol-color special

symbol-color special north-arrow [0 100 100] symbol-colour special scale-bar [0 100 100] Seem not to work, they are still coming out black?? Tried both spellings Also using symbol-colour point water-flow [0 0 100] which works As a drastic action tried symbol-colour group all [0 100 100] which looks like it works on all the symbols I use but not the north arrow or the scale bar Andrew PS also struggling to get code tex-map \legendwidth=20cm to do anything!!

What, exactly, is the font that Therion uses when producing pdfs? It isn't Arial, although it is quite close. Graham

code tex-map /comment
by Andrew Atkinson 18 Apr '13

18 Apr '13

Hi all I am having a little difficulty with this. What I am aiming at is the scale bar and north arrow in the top right and comment legend and comment in bottom left(ish) so I have got to this code tex-map \def\maplayout{ \legendbox{0}{80}{nw}{ \scalebar \bigskip \northarrow } \legendbox{80}{0}{sw}{ \formattedlegend } } endcode Which works fine however as soon as I try to add /comment it either does not compile with a 256 error, or the comment does not appear. If I only have map-header 0 80 nw code tex-map \comment={Some words}{} endcode that works fine (although second set of brackets took a while to get), but not sure what use when I could use map-comment. but I cannot find a way to use it in \legendbox. any hints appreciated thanks Andrew

Re: [Therion] Absolute Clino reading

calibrate clino -90 1 1 2 2.0 270 150 still gives gradient reading out of range -- 150 however, I chose not to use this as Pockettopo that I was using for drawing does not understand it Andrew On 17/04/13 20:08, Martin Sluka wrote: > > Apr 17, 2013 v 8:53 PM, Andrew Atkinson <andrew(a)wotcc.org.uk>: > >> For completeness, the Total station also seems to allow 0 as down, 90 as >> horizontal, > > If this is right use: calibrate clino -90 1 > > Martin

Absolute Clino reading
by Andrew Atkinson 17 Apr '13

17 Apr '13

Hello I have been forced to use a total station for some of the cave surveys I am doing due to the amount of metal/electricity in the cave. The total station records absolute angles, (in degrees and minutes) which therion does not process. So 320 should be interpreted as -40 therion: error -- Entrance.th [53] -- gradient reading out of range -- 321:49 however a quick check and survex does, but gives a warning, should Therion not also do this, it would save me having to do a tedious conversion. (Survex does not understand degrees and minutes but that is not really relevant) Example part of the file 1.0 1.1 1.56 - up 0 is steel pin in tarmac, first 4X marking #Tony's notes, azi and bearing swapped, but as this is the DistoX leg, it must be the corrected version #1.1 1.2 38.463 87:52 90:22 2 is Coxs Entrance #corrected version form DistoX [AA: April 13] 1.1 1.2 38.463 90.2 3 1.1 1.3 18.132 137:38 83:07 3 is Ladye Chapel Entrance & WIS fixed point 1.2 - 1.428 247:57 321:49 to top of arch 1.2 - 1.06 248:04 88:17 1.2 - 1.271 69:11 321:27 1.2 1.4 1.55 - down to nail in pavement 1.2 1.5 11.360 152:40 2:02 1.5 - 3.327 325:35 332:05 1.5 - 2.189 194:30 314:59 1.5 - 3.886 113:49 64:35 thanks Andrew
