changing wall symbols
Hello On some scales the wall:debris and blocks does not work very well. So I thought that I would change the symbol. So I have been using code metapost let p_gradient = p_entrance_UIS; Which works fine. so copying that I tried code metapost let l_wall_debris = l_wall_UIS; Which had no effect. With a bit more playing I discovered I could not change any wall things like code metapost let l_wall = l_floorstep_UIS; further experiments showed I could not change any line symbol code metapost let l_overhang = l_wall_UIS; one problem is that an error is not generated if you make a typo so I cannot tell if I have the right identifiers. What am I doing wrong? Andrew
As far as I understand that changes from one set to another not one symbol for another So unsing symbol-assign if I was using the UIS set of symbols but wanted the AUT boulders I could use symbol assign, but what I want to do is to change all my wall:boulders into plain walls which are both in the UIS symbol set, which is why I tied the let command in metapost, it works for points but it seems not for lines thanks Andrew On 26/04/13 11:48, Martin Sluka wrote:

Andrew For the situation you describe I have always copied the whole metapost definition for the new look symbol. Your way is more elegant and simpler, but I have never tried it. Not sure why it would work for points and not for lines. Excellent: Bruce as you say not as elegant and I am sure what I was trying is suppose to work. I have 3 symbols to swap, but your lateral thinking will allow me to do what I want at the moment thanks Andrew On 28/04/13 22:04, Bruce wrote:
