Re: [Therion] Thereon model with surface and texture - in Russian

Nice to see my text being promoted here. Sad fact, that it is old, and need to be updated - since Japanese site to get ASTER data was closed, now you should get data in other places, which, from my experience did not give 1x1 degree squares easily. Now I use globalmapper to deal with surface data, it is much faster to get results, but again globalmapper is not free app.

question about Therion
by Кунгурская лаборатория-стационар 18 Dec '16

18 Dec '16

Good afternoon, Therion team. My name is Maxim. I work in your Therion program. And I have a question. I have drawn the map in your program. She is created in any coordinates. But I have actual coordinates of points from which there is a map development. And I don't know how to combine actual coordinates with data of the shooting created in the Therion program. Help please. How to combine data of Therion with actual coordinates. Couldn't find the answer to this question anywhere. This letter includes an example of data of shooting The point R84 has coordinates: X - 10481.661 ; Y - 19219.410 ; Z - 115.967 How to make the map in actual coordinates? Help please. -- With respect for, Kungur Icecave mailto:icecave@mi-perm.ru

Updated Elevation grid labels
by Владимир Георгиев 24 Nov '16

24 Nov '16

Hi Here are a couple of recent Therion updates I needed and added: - I added 4 more symbol scales to the existing 5 ones: 2XS < XS < S < M < L < XL < 2XL < 3XL < 4XL. Each is approximately 50% larger than the previous. The 2 larger ones are a bit excessive, but might come in handy occasionally. - Updated elevation grid to show both depth and altitude of cave, instead of altitude only. Depth is in the left column, altitude in the right. They are also aligned to match the 0 point, which is slightly different than the old one. You can see what I mean in the attached images. In a 2D map the depth is more important for me than the altitude. If someone uses that type of grid, can you share your opinion? I could add an additional layout option to control whether the grid is labeled in the new way, but it doesn't seem to be worth it. The compiled apps and code are here https://github.com/vldgeorgiev/therion/wiki Vladimir

Additional morphing points (type "extra") explained
by Benedikt Hallinger 18 Nov '16

18 Nov '16

Hello, i struggle to understand how the extra morphing points are meant to be used. How do they work technically? How do i correctly set them? Are they linked to the nearest station and could i use more than two extra points? Are they linked to LRUD data? I already investigated the "morohing" example from the documentation (both in code and in thbook), so i think it would be good to stick to this example. Thank you very much!

After being "Convert to curve" line looses ID
by Rodrigo Severo 07 Oct '16

07 Oct '16

Hi, After a "convert to curve" operation lines loose their IDs. I believe they also loose other info like the "l-size" required by slopes. Shouldn't all info - id and options - be kept - after a "convert to curve" operation. Regards, Rodrigo
