Question about "\cavedepth" and Northarrow
by Torsten Schnitter 08 Apr '14

08 Apr '14

Hi all I'm wondering a bit about the results from the variable \cavedepth. May be it's not correct this way or I do have a different understanding and someone can explain to me why it is this way. I'm drawing a map (with scraps, points, walls etc) containing just a sidepassage of the entire cavesystem. Concerining the survey data I'm using "data diving ..." within centerline. The result from \cavedepth is now the maximum difference between the shallowest and deepest point of that part of the cave. E.g.: If I have surveypoints in this part of the cave from -15m to -20m the result in the header using \cavedepth is -5m. What I did expect to get from \cavedepth was the maximum depth of this part of the cave, so -20m. Because this is the relevant info to cavedivers. Is there any way to get this result without using the override from \cavedepth? I would like to use the automatic calculation of course but also want to get the maximum depth under water. 2nd question: I would like to use a northarrow as you can see in the attached file. Does anyone have some code for that? Thanks for your help. cheers, Torsten

Denivelations..

Hello, I just noticed, how polygonal order in centerline (surface + cave polygons) can change the denivelation of the cave. Here are examples of the same data in different order. Is v5.3.14 now available in brew repository. If so how do I install it? I tried brew install thereon but got Error: No available formula for thereon Dave Clucas dave.clucas(a)icloud.com On 18 Mar 2014, at 11:00, therion-request(a)speleo.sk wrote: > Send Therion mailing list submissions to > therion(a)speleo.sk > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > http://mailman.speleo.sk/mailman/listinfo/therion > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > therion-request(a)speleo.sk > > You can reach the person managing the list at > therion-owner(a)speleo.sk > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Therion digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. 5.3.14

Hi everybody, yesterday I have updated xtherion a little bit. "Edit->Hide inactive scraps" should work now as well as right clicking on point or line invokes context menu. If you have some idea, what else should go to context menu or how items there should be arranged, please let me know. For windows users: I have upgraded bundled TclTk to 8.6 (in fact, only 8.5 features were needed), but I had to compile it my self. I hope, there will be no major issues. Regards, S.
