background sketch makes map output extent huge - RESOLVED
by Bruce 23 Feb '10

Indeed, it has been fixed. Yes. It will be fixed in the forthcoming 5.3 release. FW: export bbox
by Bruce 23 Feb '10

23 Feb '10

> supported syntax is > export map -output foo.bbox > thbook will be corrected. Thanks for pointing it out. Thank you, it works! I was surprised however that it appears to be latitude and longitude, when in my thconfig I have ... cs EPSG:27200 #NZ Map Grid 1949 ... to specify the output co-ordinate system. Is this intended and if so why? And to remind about a previously mentioned request, perhaps it is possible in due course to include the output co-ordinate system in this type of output (along with caves html, map and atlas pdf output headers)? Creating a namespace for an existing wiki page so it's images can be stored local to the page and not in the root
by Bruce 23 Feb '10

23 Feb '10

Hi Can anyone give me some pointers how to add a namespace for a wiki page that does not already have one? This would save me from having to load all my images into the root namespace thereby cluttering it up. I have tried to follow the examples at http://www.dokuwiki.org/namespaces but when I try it out nothing happens. Thanks Bruce

Declination and coordinate systems
by Bruce 23 Feb '10

23 Feb '10

Hi I have been under the impression for the last couple of years, that the presence of a cs command in a high level *.th file (say an INDEX.th that ties together all the sub-surveys) would override any declination statements within the sub-survey *.th files. On investigating a peculiarity I find that the declination statements are overriding the cs statements, and that The Therion Book suggests this is the intended behaviour, as far back as 5.2.2 anyway. Has this behaviour changed since 0.5.x or is this a faulty memory relic of mine from my first dazed days as a Therion user? I guess this means I need to comment out all those approximate declination statements now! (Of course it is probably too late to change it now, but it would suit my workflow for drawing projected elevations (from paper sketches) if cs always overrode declination) Historical recollection anyone? Version 5.3 Change Request
by Carl Magnuson 22 Feb '10

22 Feb '10

I see version 5.3 was released today. Everything of mine compiles fine with the new version, but I did have to make one change to allow for the large number of scraps in my map. Is it possible to change line 1933 of thexpmap.cxx to the following to allow for maps with > 4096 scraps? fprintf(out->file, "warningcheck := 0;\n"); Carl

I'm not sure I understand the new bounding box feature. Re: [Therion] FW: 2D output header title when therion can't decide which one to use
by dangle＠tomo.co.nz 19 Feb '10

Thanks Martin I have started my \legendcontent definition thus... code tex-map \legendcontent={% \hsize=\legendwidth \color[0 0 0]\the\legendtextcolor \ifnortharrow\vbox to 0pt{\line{\hfil\northarrow}\vss}\fi % original code commented out % \edef\tmp{\the\cavename} \ifx\tmp\empty \else % {\the\legendtextheadersize\the\cavename}\vskip1cm % \fi \edef\tmp{\the\cavename} \ifx\tmp\empty{\the\legendtextheadersize{Caves of the Flora Area}}\vskip1cm \else {\the\legendtextheadersize\the\cavename}\vskip1cm \fi % ... original code continues to end And it behaves precisely as per my original attempt. No errors, but also no map title if Therion is not able to identify a unique title. With multiple maps selected in my thconfig th_texts.tex gives... \cavename={\mainfont{}} With one map selected in my thconfig th_texts.tex gives... \cavename={\thfb\char70 \char108 \char111 \char114 \char97 \ \char67 \char97 char118 \char101 \char115 \ \char80 \char108 \char97 \char110 \mainfont{}} So I infer that \cavename is indeed empty when there is no unique map title, but the customised \ifx test is not working. Do I have the ifx syntax correct? (Martins example was split by a line feed inserted by the mail application so I am not sure) Do we have to dig deeper to find a solution? I notice the output produced has the appearance of having \vskip1cm applied regardless of the original \ifx test being true or false, but the 'true' result code has no \vskip1cm. Maybe this is a clue? Is there yet another definition that is overriding this code? Thanks Bruce

XVI with sketch
by Vasily Vl. Suhachev 18 Feb '10

18 Feb '10

Hello I am used thconfig like this: ----- input "large_centerline_with_loops_closure.th" input "new_survey.th2" # sketches enabled select new_survey.whole_cave export map -fmt xvi -o new_survey.xvi -proj plan -layout-sketches on ----- Therion generated XVI of "new_survey", but without sketch image. If I deleting "select" command I get XVI+sketch, but XVI contained centerline of whole cave (approx 30 km), and XTherion work very slow. How to make XVI with sketch for part of large centerline? PS using Therion 5.2.14 -- WBR, Vasily
