"\legendbox" "\loadpicture" and absolute paths
by rowena 14 Mar '21

Hello, I am using the "\loadpicture" capability in "\legendbox" constructs to include map sections, elevations, etc. It all works nicely on my PC where I am using relative paths to the pdf files. My club has a desire to archive the map data for posterity - ie if my pc dies or I go walkabout, the map data should still be available so that others can add to the maps as they are extended. I would prefer to have the images included using relative pathnames, rather than absolute pathnames, so that future explorers can download the map data and extend it, without having to duplicate my file hierarchy. How can I include relative paths in the \loadpicture functionality? Thanks, Rowena

Import a scrap into another scrap (or th2-file)
by torstein finnesand 11 Oct '17

11 Oct '17

Hi fellows, Sometimes I realize that two scraps should have been one (for instance scrap A in A.th2 should have been a part of scrap B in B.th2), in particular when it's difficult to join them. It's easy to insert the xvi file into the scrap B file. But I have to draw it again. Is there any workaround here? Torstein Finnesand Norway

Shortcut to delete a line point
by Владимир Георгиев 04 Feb '16

04 Feb '16

Hello When editing scraps I quite often delete line points. The only way is through the right-click menu and a submenu and I miss having a shortcut for that. It will make it much easier. How hard would it be to add one? Does anyone know what part of the source handles the shortcuts for XTherion? Vladimir

Change size of scalebar
by Torsten Schnitter 12 Jan '16

12 Jan '16

Hello again Recently I asked how to change size of legendsymbols. Henry helped on this. Thanks again Henry. Now my question is how to resize scalebar. I'm using "Scalebar 2" from this metapost code http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/metapost?s[]=scalebar As I'm no pro in Metapost or Texcode I don't see how to resize it. Any help is appreciated. Btw: Is there any easy way to resize parts like scalebar, northarrow, legendsymbols, legendcontent? I'm using all this parts in seperate legendboxes (within layout part in config file) to position it on seperate places on the map. Depending on the size of the map it's recomended to make all this single parts bigger to have a nice view of the map. Thanks, Torsten

Change Size of Legensymbols and Text
by Torsten Schnitter 10 Jan '16

10 Jan '16

Hi I'm wondering if it's possible to change the size of the legendsymbols and it's text in a simple way. Does anyone have an idea? Within the layout passage in the th-config file I use a separate legendbox for just the legendsymbols: ... \legendbox{10}{10}{SE}{\legendsymbols} ... \legendsymbols is defined as follows: code tex-map \def\legendsymbols{ \hsize=\legendwidth \formattedlegend } As the map is pretty big the legendsymbols are pretty small in comparision. And there is a lot free space for much bigger legendsymbols. cheers, Torsten

Thanks HenryOn a slightly related topic, does any one know how to get Staton flag symbols, such as doline, sink, spring, entance, overhang to appear in the legend?Or at least the reason why they do not? Tweak the numbers to find what works for you. Code metapost def draw_legend_box = %make the objects in the legend boxes bigger currentpicture := currentpicture scaled 7.0; clip currentpicture to unitsquare scaled 20u; drawoptions(); pickup PenB; draw unitsquare scaled 20u ; enddef; %clear the background of the larger legend boxes def clean_legend_box = unfill unitsquare scaled 20u; enddef; %change the value of inscale to fill the legend boxes def inscale = %xscaled legend_scale yscaled (0.618*legend_scale) xscaled legend_scale yscaled legend_scale enddef; endcode code tex-map \def\maplayout{ \legendbox{75}{80}{NW}{ \legendwidth 140 cm \legendtextsize={\size[54]} \hsize=\legendwidth \input th_legend } } endcode #end of TeX code You may also find this useful, from memory it was how I sorted the altitude legend box too. http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/tips#multilingual_legend_legend_form… This works for me for virtually all the symbols except for passage height which needs some additional thought. How do you draw objects outside cave?
by Nikita Kozlov 08 Jan '16

08 Jan '16

Hi everyone! What trick can be used to draw cave objects like rivers, trees outside actual cave like here: http://www.thailandcaves.shepton.org.uk/files/cavesurveys/chumphon/cp0054-t… (a piece of river near Resurgence entrance) Drawing invisible walls did not help me. My rivers always gets cut by line connecting entrance sides.
