Add Therion version and compiled date to Map and Atlas Headers
by Bruce 19 May '11

I'd like to add the compilation date and Therion version to map and atlas headers after the statistics/copyright and before the legends. This is probably a simple tex macro for someone to extract the information from suitable variables or the system clock for someone that knows how. Eg (c) Bilbo Baggins 2012 Compiled with Therion 5.3.8 on 2012.01.05 (optional time, bat logo from web site and http://therion.speleo.sk <http://therion.speleo.sk/> link here) Legend. Is it (easily) possible? Has someone done this already? Come to think of it all of the list outputs should include this information as well. Bruce

Compatibility with Survex
by Graham Mullan 16 May '11

16 May '11

I made a comment recently about compatibility with the most recent version of Survex, so that I didn't need to change between versions of the latter when viewing 3d files generated with either Survex or Therion. This was to be takien on board with the next development snapshot. I see this morning that Olly has uploaded Survex 1.1.16. Aven seems smoother in use on this. Could this be borne in mind when the next Therion snapshot is produced? Many thanks Graham

Station-names appendages removal within group endgroup block
by Bruce 13 May '11

With all the PocketTopo data I have been collecting it has been very convenient to use the station-names statement when adding it to my Therion dataset. Often this data connects to survey stations with different prefix/suffix's, but the station-name statement will mess up the typed in name. In the case of centrelines I can work around this by placing any such stations before the station-names statement. This does not work within scraps. I have been trying to use code like this within centrelines and within scraps station-names jh @jh # in scraps this is included in the scrap definition <refer to stations that need the prefix & suffix added> group station-names [] [] # temporarily clear the prefix & suffix <refer to stations with no, or with differing, prefix or suffix> endgroup Alas it does not seem to work, and it seems like it would be very helpful if it did. Is there a way to do this already, or could it be added. Regards Bruce

Importing Survex files
by Graham Mullan 06 May '11

06 May '11

Owing to some features of my dataset, including, as I have flagged up before the fact that Therion is not as flexible as Survex when it comes to data entry, in that it requires a clino column even when the data has not been collected, I am still having to import some survex 3d files into my model. I also use Survex to view other people's models. This data has been compiled in Survex 1.1.15 as it includes passage dimension data. The problem is that 3d files compiled using 1.1.15 instead of 1.0.39 will not import into Therion. Is there some way that this can be dealt with so that I don't have to keep installing/uninstalling versions of Survex? Graham
