neat. Although I strongly contend that lines which go underneath should have a small gap so that they do not touch the wall which they are going under. This makes for much clearer pictures. Althernatively the greying could occur before the wall/clipping zone.
You're right - this would help a lot, but... ... our scrap outline is given by bezier curves. And as far as I know, problem of finding parallel curve to given bezier curve has no analytical solution (numerical isn't possible to do in metapost - too slow). Any ideas? S.
