A comparison of therion, TunnelX and Carto would be very useful, but I don't know of anyone who's tried all three.
Only a note: Check automatic overlap feature of therion - there is a sample on therion page.
neat. Although I strongly contend that lines which go underneath should have a small gap so that they do not touch the wall which they are going under. This makes for much clearer pictures. Althernatively the greying could occur before the wall/clipping zone. You're right - this would help a lot, but... ... our scrap outline is given by bezier curves. And as far as I know, problem of finding parallel curve to given bezier curve has no analytical solution (numerical isn't possible to do in metapost - too slow). Any ideas? S.

From my prepress experience - there is quite easy way to add contour to bezier if you copy the curve exactly UNDER actual curve and change the width (increase it), color, ... of the underlaying one. Martin --

I'm afraid, this would not help in this case. The reson is very simple: When you're attaching two scraps from different levels - they need to be connected exactly. But if you would write this white line - there will be also a thin space between walls, you have specified that have to join exactly :( But some modification of this approach can be the solution. S.
