Is there any particualar reason you didn't include the 'wrong-size tabs' whitespace patch? That seems like an uncontroversial upstream fix.
To be honest, not enough time to read the "patch" manpage. See https://xkcd.com/1168/ :) I modified files manually in mc, I would like to clean the code later, together with compiler warnings, there are still a lot of them. Thanks, S.
