I think that just replacing the original xvi with the new xvi (overwriting) you will find that it is in the same position, if it has been generated by topParser, it picks the first station as 0, 0 and that should not change if you are just adding more detail. Not actually tried it, don't forget backups :-)
Anyway, in right side menu of xterion map editor are fields with coordinates of left-bottom corner of particular image. You may edit these coordinates manually to place any background image to correct position. BTW, there are several such fields in map editor. Check them, they could be useful. m.s.
