Hi Rodrigo,
> Can you both send me one or 2 th2 files so I can better understand how to deal with them? A typical one and, maybe, a non-typical but important one also?
My real data is so full of different configurations that it would be
hard to understand. So I made you a quick demo (attached) of the
different situations:
* a passage underneath another passage
* a drop where you want a more abrupt colour change
* a passage continuing on the other side of a junction where you
surveyed them on the same trip, but not the other junction branches (in
my case, a high level passage connecting to the roof of a chamber which
was surveyed on another trip)
* a scrap for extra notes that are not normally included
The .thconfig files can select:
* a standard map of "everything"
* a map of everything with extra labels for hardware maintainers
* a map that only shows the major route
* a map that displaces some passages to remove overlaps
These are all things that I personally use multiple scraps in a single
.th2 file for.
Not saying that you will use displaced passages, or extra notes layers,
or even a survey of "the major route only", but these are all things
that can depend on having multiple scraps if those passages all get
surveyed in one "survey".
However, you will absolutely end up with overlapping passages, and
abrupt drops, and you are quite likely to end up with passages that stop
and start again at junctions, unless your caves are extremely simple.
Cheers,
Tarquin
