Really nobody trying Inkscape as map preeditor (excluding areas, slope
ticks and line point subtypes) for xtherion? I made three conversions
from Illustrator files to Therion and it is very promissing combination!

You may add Therion object(s) property manualy in "Object properties"
menu or by help of Therion extensions. Save final drawing as .th2 file
and continue in Xtherion. .th2 file is possible to open in Inkscape.
Objects (areas, ...) are just ignored. There is one limitation - If
there are areas you should check if ID of lines don't include "--"
string (double dash). If so one have to search/replace them in plain
text editor to "_" (underscore), edit in Inkscape and again replace
"_" by "--" before opening in Xtherion.
