[Therion] scale image

Andrea
Rather than try to explain I will include an example of one I have done.
This one has no real survey, only a scan of an old map, but hopefully you
can figure it out. One confusing thing about my example is the large amount
of spurious data that has been commented out, although it may also give you
a clue as to how I set my data out for a more comprehensive cave (which
continues to be my biggest challenge - although I do have a system now).
Copy all the attached into a folder of their own and then play around. I
have left out the scan of the cave as it is very large. Just add your own
jpg image to the folder - a smiley face say - and name it
PerserverancePlan1.jpg
To get this to work, you will need another folder at the same level as the
one you just made named 'Outputs' (otherwise you will get an error CP01) AND
you will need yet another folder 'StdFiles'. I'll make a second post with
the contents of 'Std Files'
I've added the .thc extension because I use Windows, and once I've
associated the thc extension with Therions mysterious 'Wish Application' I
find that using Therion from the OS becomes much more user friendly. Just
double click on the files - the thconfigs open in the Compiler and the
Layouts open in the Text Editor. Much better!
Hope this helps
Bruce
PS: It occurs to me that, in my th2 file I have added the image to the
'background images' box in the menu area on the side of the map editor.
Perhaps it would be better in the 'background sketches' part of the 'scraps'
box. Maybe then I could output a scanned cave AND a ground surface image in
the same pdf file?? I'll play with it again one day perhaps.

Sorry, forgot to mention two stations of my centerline are located into the
image I can draw and which is without scale.
hope this give you enough information.

Hi,
sorry to bother with a beginner question, but cannot make it even reading
through the archives.
I have a .th file with centerline and .th2 file with his scraps.
Now I should add to this a th2 file with an image of an old survey. I drawed
walls and all objects in the scrap but do not know the scale and do not have
original data of the centerline.
How can I put together my centerline/scrap of known scale with this image?
Do not know how to do it and I'm having dificulty understanding how the
scale process is working.
could you help me on this?
thanks a lot
Andrea Marassich
