Re: [Therion] How to do better join from scraps in different .th2
Am I reading this correctly? You are saying that Topodroid exports every scrap as an individual pair of .th and .th2 files? If that's the case, you don't need a protocol for working in Therion, you need to writers of Topodroid to alter their export protocols so that your entire day's surveying is exported as a single pair of .th and .th2 files which you can break down into scraps as you wish. My reading of this as it seems to stand would have every X-section exported as separate .th and .th2 files, which is just ridiculous. Have I got something wrong? Graham
Hi Graham, Yes Topodroid export every scrap as an individual .th2, and the X-Section too in others individuals .th2. The .th file is only one for survey (surveying day). You can do a unique scrap for all the day too. I think you only have to do a new scrap with galleries under others or scraps too long. This philosophy it's OK for me if I can do a good manually per-join in Topodroid or Therion. Evaristo Quiroga El 04/10/2017 a las 18:37, Graham Mullan via Therion escribió:

Graham, it is not problem, you may have each scrap in individual .th2 file. If you include all the files in one survey and that survey obtain centerline too, everything will be in one name space. ms On Oct 04, 2017, at 07:51 PM, Evaristo Quiroga via Therion <therion@speleo.sk> wrote: Hi Graham, Yes Topodroid export every scrap as an individual .th2, and the X-Section too in others individuals .th2. Good point. I had my setup to handle multiple files output by TopoDroid. I made a main file (bigbat.th) which was just a place to link from. My file imported .th files. Then it equated points where the centerlines connected. Then it joined scraps together where the walls or other features connected. Don't know if I can send an attachment or not on this service (but I'm trying). If it doesn't go through I'll copy and paste it in. P.S. I can't remember whether the map command was added in Topodroid to the scraps or whether I had to add it to make this work. Something like this has to be in the scrap (not in the main project file): map 2014_10_25_1map 2014_10_25_surv1_scrap1 bbr1_scrap2 bbr1_scrap3 bbr1_scrap4 bbr1_scrap5 endmap Let me know if you get attachments and/or this makes sense. I honestly don’t remember why I commented those out. I did not need them for the final draft anyway. Is it necessary to comment splay shots?
I think so. Otherwise all lengths are added to the centerline. Or I am wrong?
Splay shots are NOT ever added to the survey length. They are for passage shape and internal features only. I think if a splay happens to be higher than the highest or lower than the lowest survey station, then they contribute to the cave depth, otherwise they don't affect the cave statistics. Commenting splay shots creates additional work and defeats the purpose of measuring them and entering them. If you want to hide them, or show them, that is controlled using layout statements or controls in the model viewers (Aven, Loch). Bruce
