Therion database web interface
I am wanting to add some cave databases to the web along the lines of what Andrew describes here http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/contrib:databasequery I have something working locally based on what Andrew submitted, although their are minor warnings that my system throws up, presumambly due to different system requirements, that I think I can fix. Before I teach myself php, I thought I should ask to see if anyone has developed Andrews code, or something similar, to a more comprehensive extent, and if they have ask if they would share it? Ideas I have are; -more comprehensive result tables -add map awareness, ie debug which surveys have no scraps or no maps of particular projections -debug which surveys have no surveyors or no explorers etc Thanks Bruce
I do not think anyone has developed it further. If you are developing it, sqlite option, is probably a good improvement, allowing more servers, and probably local copies to be used more easily. Andrew On 4 Jul 2014 10:39, "Bruce" <bruce@tomo.co.nz> wrote:

In this context I have often thought, why there is no possibility to get a file in Excel-Format. I think for the most cavers respectively serveyors it is more easy to work with Excel…… But I`am no programmer….. But I`am no programmer...

Alas I am no programmer either! Part of my motive for looking at expanding the tables the web interface produces, is that anyone can then copy the results table to a spreadsheet and manipulate to gain inspiration. We can currently output all the list formats to html or text, and these paste into a spreadsheet nicely. So we can already get quite a lot of stuff in Excel format. My reason for wanting to work on the database output is that the current list outputs do not provide the range of information that i need to work unambiguously on a large dataset. And it would save Stacho and Martin from having to make changes to Therion itself. Bruce
Being meaning to do this for a while now, but the code is now at https://bitbucket.org/AndrewA/kreios/src It has gained a name doing that as well. So if you want to play you can, email me direct if you would like to commit back. No licence info in there at the moment, but it is all GPL3+ I am very behind at some of the changes I want to make to this and topParser, but that is what happens when you take your house complexly to bits while living in it, end is in sight :) have fun Andrew On 04/07/14 22:26, Bruce wrote:
