Hi all, slowly the time goes to end, there we can buy cheap "old" PDA with Winmobile. Pockettopo works only on Win platform and small cheap devices with Windows as OS are seldom. And our devices in use are growing older. What do you all use? What alternatives are possible. I know about some so called APPS for Android, but do they work? I hope you have the same opinion - that this is the right platform. Greetings Markus
Dell Axim x51v or x50v. Plenty of them on eBay. I have three. Odesláno z iPhonu 12. 10. 2014 v 17:05, Markus Boldt <markus.boldt@gmx.net>:

There is also Auriga software for Palm OS devices, which has added vector based sketching and Therion support in recent versions. I've not played with it for a while as my Palm PDA have poor battery life now, and I have a couple of Dell Axim 51v PDAs which has always worked perfectly underground with PocketTopo. But I understand there is a Palm OS emulator for Android (not free though) which enables Auriga to run on Android devices. Has anyone on this list tried Auriga, and if so have you looked at running it on Android? Footleg On 12 October 2014 22:46, Martin Sluka <martinsluka@mac.com> wrote:

Many thanks to all for the answers! I work with Asus A696. It works without any problems since 4 years. I must say, I havn`t not found “many” Dell Axim or HPs on Ebay. Yes, there are some more for over 100€, but that price in inacceptable for that old device. 4 others are at an acceptable price in the moment…..Hope, there is no other colleague in the moment, who needs one….. I hope, there will be a version of Pocketopo not only for Windows mobile. Particularly because the Calibration-Funktion of that program. Even if there is an Lion-akku in the Distox2 or mµ-sheet in the Distox1, you must calibrate the device from time to time. Greeting Markus Martin: Thanks for advise us of the Panasonic CF18/19. A search on ebay for 'dell axim pda x51v' with the 'sold items' and under £30 filters showed that several sold for that price in the past few weeks. So certainly these come up regularly and sell for a reasonable price in the UK. Just keep watching out and one will come up. Hallo, I purchased an HP iPAQ 214 half a year ago and it works fine, incl. BT (it was a bit fumbly to get it going). I saw a demo of an app at Hidden Earth which is essentially a re-implementation of pockettopo on android. The core drawing part is done, as is data transmission over bluetooth. It needs some file save/read code to be useful. Andrew knows the name of the fellow doing it - I've forgotten. Having an android app with that functionality will give us a lot more choice of hardware. There is already topodroid, but I understand it is a lot more like xtherion-lite than pockettopo, which is OK if your cave is warm and you like surveying very slowly, but for many situations the very simple lines-only/no metadata drawing style of pockettopo makes a lot of sense. I am certainly very keen to see a free software implementation of pockettopo. It might even make me buy an android device :-) Wookey -- Principal hats: Linaro, Emdebian, Wookware, Balloonboard, ARM http://wookware.org/
Qave - Polish one. It works well but no implementation of calibration and export to Therion. Odesláno z iPhonu 12. 10. 2014 v 23:17, Wookey <wookey@wookware.org>:
