How to scale the background image.
Hi all I have a completed therion map. A scrap was traced over a background image that was 2000 px wide (scanned at 300 dpi). I wish to reduce the size of the background image to 1000 px as it only needs to be effectively 150 dpi resolution. In the Gimp I reduced it to 1k wide and changed the dpi from 300 to 150 dpi. In xtherion now the image is 1/2 the size of the scrap (hence it guess it ignores any dpi info in the image file). I can use "Adjust" in the "Drawing area" to move the image up or down but how can I scale it on screen to once again match the scrap? As I know, Therion calculates everything in pixels. Maybe there is a workaround. m.s.
Hi Thanks for that. Yes scaling all the numbers in the th2 file worked. Wrote a python script to go through the lines and divide each number found by a scale and rewriting the lines again into a new th2 file. That now matches over top of my scaled image. Hi all Martin asked if I could put the script up to the wiki. Still have not got access to that so it's attached here. Why this script was needed: I had a Therion survey where the sketches had been scanned at 600 dpi and the scraps had been drawn from these images. When I scale the images to less pixels the images no longer line up under the scraps in the map editor. I needed to have lower size images but still have the th2 scraps aligning with the underlying images. The images with al the Therion data are going into a version control system hence I want to reduce the file size. Python script attached. On 09/08/2014 11:40 PM, Michael Lake wrote:

Therion assumes images at 100 dpi and ignores the stored dpi information. I think it is documented somewhere in the therion book. Thus is you want to conserve the scale of your image (scanned at 300 dpi) you should divide its size its size by 3 (undesample to 666 pixels) in gimp.
