
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Hi all,<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I have an other question about shapefiles produced by Therion.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">In my language (french), we are using accentuated characters. For that,  In Therion :</div><div class=""><ul class="MailOutline"><li class="">all my files begin with ‘encoding utf-8’. </li><li class="">encoding-default and encoding-sql in therion.ini are set up tp UTF-8 (in /usr/local/etc and $HOME) (but <span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Menlo; font-size: 11px;" class="">therion --print-init-file</span> still gives ASCII as encodings…) </li><li class="">I am exporting shapefiles with the line : export map -proj plan -fmt esri -o MyOutput -layout my_layout -enc UTF-8</li></ul><div class=""><br class=""></div></div><div class="">When I load the point2d.shp in QGis, QGis tells me that the encoding of the shapefile is utf-8.</div><div class="">But, when I edit the attribut table, in the _TEXT field, I still have strange signs in place of the accentuated characters. For instance, I do not read « Vers S. Chatière », but 'Vers S. ChatiÃ¨re’.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Does someone have an idea to correct this behavior and get the right encoding ? </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Cheers,</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Xavier</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""><br class=""></div></body></html>
