<p>With permission of the original author (Mike McCombe) and help of
Wookey I have recently started to refactor TerrainTool to use v3
ASTER files but seems like we need to target the newest ones...
Due to the complexity of the old DEM file parser I'm considering
using a dedicated GeoTiff library - anyone has any experiences or
suggestions?</p>
