So I think I may have suspected that this option was the cause of the problem I was investigating. But it sounds like it is not related. What I am actually trying to work out is what is causing the text export file from a PocketTopo survey someone sent me to include a < character between the trip number [1] and the comment in double quotes. I've not seen this in any text files exported before, and I need to know what it indicates so I can update the parser in my cave converter program.

Footleg

On 25 Jan 2015 22:05, "Beat Heeb" <heeb@speleo.ch> wrote:

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">The direction used for the extended elevation is set by the ‘Flip’ command in the drawing context menu.

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">This completely independent of the shot direction set by the ‘Shot ->’ command.

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">Regards

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">Beat

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">

<span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1f497d">

<span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"">From:<span style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif""> therion-bounces@speleo.sk [mailto:therion-bounces@speleo.sk] On Behalf Of Andrew Atkinson
Sent: Sunday, 25 January, 2015 22:49
To: Therion
Subject: Re: [Therion] Pocket Topo Shot Direction question

I believe it is the direction used on the extended elevation (from memory)

Andrew

On 25 Jan 2015 21:41, "Footleg" <drfootleg@gmail.com> wrote:

Can anyone tell me what the purpose/use is of the menu item in PocketTopo on the data screen which says either 'Shot ->' or 'Shot <-' ?

I see it set to one or the other on my shots depending whether they were forward or back shots.
