Try them in elevation (extended or projected), and create a diagonal
rope line with at least three linepoints.
Personally, I hate them, because you have no control, and they never
seem to end up looking like the actual rigging. They just do rebelay
loops in unnatural positions. So for my rigging topos, I use my own rope
lines, which just draw basic lines, and I then manually draw rebelays,
Y-hangs etc. using Bézier curves. I use point anchor for anchors with my
custom anchor code, so I can set the specific kind of anchor symbol.
