Yes, our use case is „survey lines only, no drawings“. To overlay PLT-Output onto (Google-)maps. (not GoogleEarth).

(For kml output, there is the “disable splays” option, but not for plt-output).

Hi Michael

Assuming you have some drawings…

If you include a survey within a map, you will tend to get the splays in the output.

If you do not include the survey in the map, you will only get the survey lines and not the splays.

In the rather messy example below, all of the survey data was collected electronically and has splays.  The ones on the left have the drawings and surveys explicitly included in the map definition.  The ones on the right have only the drawings included in the map definition.



 

If you do not yet have any drawing I think you always get splays. I think symbol-hide might be best.  I’ve never wanted to remove splays when I don’t yet have drawing so I’ve never tried.  But perhaps this might work.

You could edit this to omit the drawing of the splay, but that seems a potentially problematic way to do it.
