Better idea is "-outline none -clip off" option, because it is surface morphology, not a part of an underground cavity.

Scrap border consists of lines with the -outline out or -outline in options (passage walls have -outline out by default).
 
So the answer is simply to define a line of type “pitch” with option “–outline out”.

There is a symbol of surface pit, what is let's say circular canyon. Check wiki.

I’d like to use a pitch style line but believe I’d have to duplicate the wall and change type to do this.  Also requires setting the original wall to invisible.  Any ideas?
