[Therion] Symbols without map editor, polygon line filling?

Hallo everyone,

just two questions, if you please, as it is sometimes not easy to find a 
negative ('cannot do') when searching through wiki pages and such.

I have not mastered working with maps, so far; and I am unsure whether I 
need them at all. So I would like to know whether it is possible to do 
these things without them:

First, I would like to know if I can get symbols like 'entrance' in the 
output:

In a th-file (called per 'input', of course) I have written the entry 
|station 0 "Mundloch" entrance
and in the thconfig-file:
| symbol-show point station
…but I cannot get them to show in the output pdf. Is that the wrong way, 
in principle?

Second: The polygon draw leaves edges unfilled when two following, bending 
polygon lines (centrelines) meet. Can these edges be filled via 
interpolation or such?
