You installed the standard distribution package? And thus have version 5.3.9-4?

A segfault is bad. Is that from running xtherion or therion? (Or both?)

If you file a bug (Run 'reportbug therion' in a terminal, and have
working local email) I'll get more details of your system which may
help work out what's up.

So far as I know the standard therion pakage worked OK on wheezy.
