Anyway you MUST "calibrate your sketch. Or by surveying points or  
manualy by calibration line. Check the scap section of xtherion 
map  
editor. There is button "Calibrate". Press it and click on your  
sketch on two points with known distance. The points should be  
diagonaly, not horizontal or vertical only. Change in two fields  
under calibrate the values according to your sketch.

It is the same as if you draw sections.
