SKETCHES/SCRAPS
I have yet to try this, but think I would never have figured that one out.
But at last a solution, even if it is only for the novelty effect!
SURFACE
I tried a basic 10x10 surface, and it worked fine. I like the way I can
have an image covering a wide area, and a terrain model covering a smaller
area, and the model picks up the relevant part of the sketch only. Nice.
Just a small comment. I have a hierarchy of 'individual caves' and 'whole
cave system'. If, in my INDEX.th files, I 'input' the surface.th file
containing the terrain model in both levels of the hierarchy, my pdf and lox
models contain two copies of the surface. They look and work perfectly, but
I infer this from the increased file size and decrease in speed.
I can not figure out a way to avoid this without manually editing the INDEX
files each time, unless perhaps I can put the 'input' statement referring to
the terrain model in the thconfig files (avoids the multiple references if
it's in the INDEX.th files. I've yet to try this, but is it likely to work?

Do you have -sketch option specified in your scrap? It does not work
automatically.
In the scrap toolbar - last list box is background sketches. You need
to click insert button below and then click on the appropriate
picture. Then this picture should be listed in the "background
sketches" listbox. Background images in xtherion are not seen by
therion, you need to enable this manually.

Yes - but you need to do it in the same "surface" object as your
bitmap is specified.
