Label printing in pdf
Hallo everybody, so, after compiling everything I am again at taking first steps in Therion. I am following advice at the Therion wiki <http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php?id=tfc:31433>, and at first I am trying to insert a label. That's successful so far, but I cannot get these labels to be printed in the resulting pdf. So I suspect, perhaps there is something missing in the layout I gave? I use: (everything in one line, of course - just got folded by emil client) | source eisenbach_hotel.th | layout eisenbach_export | north true | scale 1 100 | units metric | grid bottom | page-grid on | grid-size 100 100 100 metres | legend on | language de | statistics explo all | statistics topo all | statistics carto all | statistics copyright all | statistics topo-length on | statistics explo-length on | scale-bar 10 m | debug on | endlayout | export map -projection plan -o eisenbach_hotel.xvi | export map -projection plan -layout eisenbach_export -layout-color map-fg | 90 -output Eisenbach.pdf -fmt pdf (one line, of course) In the file .th2 the label point was successfully inserted: | point 1205.0 717.0 label -text "Eisenmuffe" But this label will not show in the pdf file, which otherwise seems to be ok (centerline, linepoints of survey and outline of lrud are drawn). I have the feeling I am forgetting something. Anyone has a hint? Best regards, Christian

Because you receive the PDF after compilation I suppose your label is part of a scrap. But did you define that scrap is part of the map in map - endmap section? Martin

Yes, I think so... is that wrong? I thought I have to use at least one scrap. I just have one scrap (as absolute beginner); in map editor (eisenbach.th2): | scrap - scrap1 | point label | endscrap
But did you define that scrap is part of the map in map - endmap section?
Ahem, no. So I looked into some examples "demo", and inserted the lines | map map1 | scrap1 | endmap into my file eisenbach.th. This yields an error "...object does not exist -- scrap1". So I thought about it, and thought "no wonder", as I surely forgot to mention the th2-file, where the point of label is defined. When I so insert the line | input eisenbach_hotel.th2 into the "highest-level" .th-file (eisenbach.th2), it works, but the resulting pdf is garbage. Could this be because a circular thing? I mean, it compiles then a .th2-file with a -th2-file as input? Structure is: [thconfig] | source eisenbach_hotel.th |- input eisenbach_hotel_intervall_1.th |- [the rest between 1 and 11] |- input eisenbach_hotel_intervall_11.th Please, can you give me a hint where to insert this map-endmap? And, as it is obviously wrong to insert that "input eisenbach.th2" into "eisenbach_hotel.th", where should I insert? Do I have to use some 'select'-command perhaps (of which I haven't the faintest idea)? Best regards, Christian
Hmmm, could you please send me your .th/.th2/thconfig files, that I can see what is going on? There may be some problem with scrap without any other symbols - just labels. I am not sure. Normally - if you have no map defined - all scraps should be in the output, so when you are starting, there is no need of map, I think. Thanks, S. Christian Rößler (Roessler) wrote:

Of course I can! But, as I am not sure how the policy of this list is about attachments, I will send them to your own email, if I may.

Well, more likely than any therion error is an error on my side - I do have some difficulties getting started. Best regards, Christian
