So in the first window - it asks you for the filename of th2 file (not XVI file).
Aah. Understood. I readed about saving th2 files first in Wookey's writing, but missed this window was asking me for it. I was not worried about relative paths.
As I wrote before - 100 dpi is assumed. If you have 1:1000 scan at 200 dpi, you have to use 1:1000/(200dpi/100dpi) = 1:500 scale in your xvi export command. A very simple mathematics :)
Yeah, something like this should have happen. Most probably image was being not visualized at 100 % when I dumped the screen. Dumped .pnm files are at 100x97 resolution. New images are actually smaller than xvi one, but I think this is not therion-related ;-) Dragging background images: I like it a lot. Thanks. Next dumb question: what about extended elevation? To use "extend" option in centerline is enough? Do I need have some scrap with projection "extended"? Could LRUD data be used in map editor? Best regards, Roman

In any case - new version will inform you that it would like to save file explicitely.

Extended elevation is currently my nightmare :) OK - I will try to explain. Currently - you are not able to export centerline in extended elevation projection. All you can do are scraps and maps in extended elevation with a very complicated "extend" point option syntax. Also stations need to be in special order etc. I would like to change it exactly the way, you suggested. To add extend option to centerline (remove it from point). Then extend centerline first - and then everything else will work normally. There will be no need to draw stations in scraps in specific order with complicated extend options, you will be able to export surveys in this projection to map etc... If users will agree (probably nobody until now did a lot of extended elevations - because it was so complicated), I can change this until 0.3.7 comes (probably). Regards, S.

I'm one of those that tried it, with some pain... and Stacho certainly remembers this. I have not done that much Therion since last summer, and no extended elevation at all. So for me it is perfectly ok if you change it completely. Eric.

Please do it. I know, it's easy for me to say it, because I didn't any extended survey yet. I understand that long time users could have big extended surveys so this change could be harmful for them. But it would be useful, so I can only beg for it and hope all people will agree... Regards, Roman

An excellent idea, change it now it only gets harder to change things as time goes by. Now that therion supports it, I'm keeping all my centreline data in survex format and importing .3d files. survex can create a flattened .3d with the 'extend' command. I'd like to be able to import these for my extended centreline. Cheers, John

I vote also for change. I have only two extended surveys in Therion (small not complicated caves). If you change it later it will be pain change for more users. L.

Changing existing data should be not too much work. Just to remove some -extend options from points (OK - I can throw warnings about them not errors) and adding some extend options to centerline data if necessary. S.
