Take care that the final colour will strictly depend on setup (calibration) of your screen, system, application and printer or data projector!!! m. Aug 16, 2013 v 10:46 AM, Martin Sluka <martinsluka@mac.com>:

Nice Martin, I added a small bit to the wiki http://therion.speleo.sk/wiki/doku.php/tips#choosing_colour_palettes I forget, do we have explicit control of map colours yet? ie an alternative to the pre-defined palette of colours available with; colour map-fg map #in layout In case we don't, some random new feature/syntax ideas. say something like this in the map definition; map MiddleEarthPlanMap -projection plan \ -survey MiddleEarth \ # survey option forces map statistics to match the survey -map-fg [54 7 60] # defining the map colour here would mean the map is always this colour - maybe not so good. Or something like this in the th-config; select MiddleEarthPlanMap -map-fg [54 7 60] # to act as an override (too much possible confusion with settings in layouts?) Or maybe a means of defining a custom palette of colours in a layout that Therion would use when executing statements like; colour map-fg [altitude | scrap | map] # colour of particular maps could be controlled by order of colours in pallet and order of explicit select statements Bruce _____ From: therion-bounces@speleo.sk [mailto:therion-bounces@speleo.sk] On Behalf Of Martin Sluka Sent: Friday, 16 August 2013 9:00 p.m. To: List for Therion users Subject: Re: [Therion] Color brewer - theory http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/brewer/ Aug 16, 2013 v 10:46 AM, Martin Sluka <martinsluka@mac.com>: Nice and I think useful tool for colour palettes: http://colorbrewer2.org <http://colorbrewer2.org/> Martin Sluka
I thing not. The main reason I added the link to ColorBrewer is in the theory page. Standard mathematical colour palette from 255 255 255 to 0 0 0 is not too good for human perception because some colours are more visible than others. The palettes in ColorBrewer are equalised from this point of view. m. Aug 17, 2013 v 1:08 AM, Bruce <bruce@tomo.co.nz>:
