Hi all Some time ago I asked a question on this list but didn't get a solution. So I would like to try again. Or does nobody else have this problem? Qustion/problem is: I'm using Therion 5.3.16 on Windows. I have a problem with exporting the xvi-files. In the documentation it's written that you can have maps consisting of surveys. And so I did. I built a map with projection plan containing just surveys (some surveylines). In the config-file I selected this map and exportet a xvi-file. But the output of the xvi-file contains all survey lines and not just the few inserted into the selected map. (If I select these lines in the config file instead of the map it's working as expected and the xvi-file contains just selected lines) Map was defined within "survey-abc" like: map xyz -proj plan line1@survey-x line2@survey-y endmap I used "select map xyz@survey-abc" and "export ...xvi..." Any help? cheers, Torsten

Thorsten, this is feature and not bug. If you don’t specify which map to use for export, Therion will use all available data. You may define many different maps for your data set, but you MUST specify to Therion, which one to use by command „select“ m.s.
Hi Martin I did specify a map and selected this map for the export. But the export does contain all surveys and not only the survey I specified in the map. Torsten

Sorry, but I don’t understand this (If I select these lines in the config file instead of the map it's working as expected and the xvi-file contains just selected lines) m.

Hi Martin I do have a map defined in a .th-file like: map abc survey-a@subsurvey-1 survey-b@subsurvey-2 endmap (survey-a and survey-b contain line data) Inside the config-file I use statements: select abc export map -fmt xvi ... This export does contain all surveydata a not only survey-a and survey-b. But if i use inside the config-file instead: select survey-a@subsurvey-1 select survey-b@subsurvey-2 export map -fmt xvi ... This export does only contain survey-a and survey-b (as also expected when select abc). Do you understand now? Torsten

OK, I understand now. It looks as nice trick. As I remembered I spoke with Stacho about this problem with generation of xvi files some times ago. Thanks Martin
