Hi all, new version of therion is available (see the file changes for new features). We introduced a new, more standardized version numbering scheme. Stable releases are numbered using MAJOR.MINOR combination, unstable releases get the third nuber: MAJOR.MINOR.BUILD_NUMBER. We also dropped the leading zero because Therion does not deserve it any more and there is no space left for it in the new numbering. Therion book contains new chapter Case studies, which documents some of the features (http://therion.speleo.sk/downloads/thbook.pdf). It is rather experimental now, but could be expanded to cover all substantial areas of therion usage. If you compile thbook by yourself, you need to compile samples in the "samples" directory before compiling thbook to include this chapter. thTeam
Hi Martin, I am not sure if new numbering for devel versions is not confusing. Normaly I expect: first number - major changes second number - usability improvements, improvements of current functionality third number - bug fixes I think it is not good idea to have stable version 5.2 and devel version 5.2.1 What about to use odd minor number for devel version? This is fantastic! I'm giving a little talk about Therion at the NSS convention in a few days, and it's always good to be able to brag that a new version was JUST released. Anything new that you would specifically like shown off? -Jonny ^v^ On Thu, Aug 7, 2008 at 5:47 AM, Martin Budaj <m.budaj@gmail.com> wrote:

Gilbert, Wookey has been helping me put a Debian package together, but I'm away from home for the week so probably won't be able to work on it until I get back. Other people may be working on it as well, but I'm not sure. I don't know specifically what needs to be done to make the Debian package compatible with Ubuntu, but I imagine it isn't too terribly complicated. -Jonny On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 6:48 AM, Gilbert Fernandes (mailinglist) <gfe_list@aliceadsl.fr> wrote:

Jonothan Prouty is having a go at learning to update a package. Either he or I will get to a new upload in the next 2-3 weeks. Not sure how long things then take to percolate from Debian to Ubuntu? Wookey -- Principal hats: Balloonz - Toby Churchill - Aleph One - Debian http://wookware.org/

Since intrepid is now in "Debian Import Freeze", it won't be automatically imported before intrepid is released in October. If the package is in good shape, you should be able to get it synced manually before 28th August. After that, it's bug-fixes only: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IntrepidReleaseSchedule Cheers, Olly

Yes. I was assuming any new version would not make current Debian release, but maybe it can be squeezed in - the changes are not major. Wookey -- Principal hats: Balloonz - Toby Churchill - Aleph One - Debian http://wookware.org/

Um, I'm not talking about making it into the next Debian release (lenny). I'm talking about making it into the next Ubuntu release (intrepid). I suspect it wouldn't make it into Debian lenny at this point unless the new release is only bug fixes, documentation changes, and/or i18n improvements. Cheers, Olly
