Generate XYZ coordinates of cave stations
Hello! After surveyed few caves in Therion I've encountered some problems with their adjustment to other GIS software. I supose that extract XYZ coordinates of cave stations and their futher comparison with plan could be the simplest way to visualize cave data in other GIS software. Could you give me some advise how to generate coordinates of cave stations? Besides what is the adjustment method in Therion? Is it least square adjustment method? Best regards Piotr Szukała Poland

Hello Piotr, why don't you export the data as shapefiles? You will get two sets of shapefiles, one with the shots and the other with the stations. Basically all GIS programs should be abel to read that files. In the .thconfig file you only need to add: export model -o outputname -format esri Best regards Wolfgang

If you are really interested in XYZ coordinates, you can use also SQL database export.

If you have Survex installed on your system, therion uses cavern (which uses least squares) to close loops. Otherwise it uses its own, somewhat simpler method. Martin
