Thanks to Olly for getting things to actually work, Therion (using wx-widgets3.0 and vtk6) is now back in Debian ready for the next stable release early in 2015. (It was removed a couple of months ago for not working with these updated library versions). Testing to check that this works for people is very welcome. This migration is just too late to get it into Ubuntu 14.10 (utopic), so that will release with 5.3.14-1 ----- Forwarded message from Debian testing watch <noreply@release.debian.org> ----- Date: Sun, 24 Aug 2014 16:39:13 +0000 From: Debian testing watch <noreply@release.debian.org> To: therion@packages.debian.org Subject: therion 5.3.15-2 MIGRATED to testing X-Spam-Status: No, score=-4.1 required=4.5 tests=AWL,BAYES_00, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_MED,T_RP_MATCHES_RCVD autolearn=ham version=3.3.2 FYI: The status of the therion source package in Debian's testing distribution has changed. I already sent the patch for vtk6 support. Here's a patch which updates therion's use of wxGLCanvas, etc to the revised API (this one works with wx 2.8 too): http://sources.debian.net/src/therion/5.3.15-2/debian/patches/wx-gl-api-upda... There's a second patch which more directly addresses wx 3.0 compatibility. I haven't checked this wx 2.8, but I think most of it should be fine, perhaps all: http://sources.debian.net/src/therion/5.3.15-2/debian/patches/wx3.0-compat.p... It would be good to see some of these patches merged back in. If there's a way I can present them more helpfully, let me know. Have you considering having a public code repo? That would make it easier to send patches which apply to the latest unreleased version of the code. Cheers, Olly
