I have a plan and profile view of a map and I would like them in the same pdf file. Any ideas? Is is possible to get a map with a projection of plan and a map with the projection of [elevation 0] in the same pdf? To scale and and lined up vertically. My plan map has the default projection (plan) My profile map has the projection [elevation 0] By the way, Therion is a really cool piece of software! Philip Schuchardt

Currently, there is no way how to do it in therion. As far as I know, there is some way how to include one PDF file into another using some special PDFTeX commands, but this is the field of MartinB. I am already thinking of this - to make it possible via some commands in configuration file, but it still only in TODO list. It simmilar problem as having multiple selections in the file. So there is no other way than doing it manually (we use Adobe Illustrator for this). I saw one combined map of Jenny Black, may be she can give you some other hints, what software to use for postprocessing therion maps.

I didnt do it a very nice way at all, and i am sure there is a better way. I converted the pdf into a png, and imported into Corel Draw, then I imported the small map and centreline that I also wanted to add and border boxes and stuff. I there has been some loss in quality with the conversions, and I am sure there is a better (less manual way) to achieve this, but I am not very good with computers. It would be great if there was a way to combine the files in therion (eg for it to read in a ps map or somehting and add it to the final pdf), to get the output directly. Here is the draft copy of this years survey, if anyone is interested: http://pcwww.liv.ac.uk/~jenny/76_plan_2005.png and the final copy from last year: http://cucc.survex.com/expo/plateau/76/76_final_col_small.png Thanks, Jenny

Take care for how big files the combination of several PDFs may produce. I made a map with one 1:200 map (complicated 4 km cave) and I added in Illustrator three smaller maps of the same cave with different options. The final PDF was 85 MB and to print out it I have to use only Illustrator, any other program collapsed Martin --
