new symbol for therion : a hammer
hello, I would like to add a new symbol in my survey. A hammer. In France we use it to show place where we dig. I've wrote the Meta Post code, but I've not test it yet (I must first find the doc I have read on therion building to add a new symbol). Could you add it in the next therion release if my code is correct ? Thanks, code metapost def p_entrance_MY (expr P,R,S,A)= T:=identity aligned A rotated R scaled S shifted P; thfill (u,-.9u)--(-.1u,.3u)--(.2u,.6u)--(-.2u,u)--(.2u,-u)--(.6u,-.2u)--(.1u,-.3u)--(-.9u,-u)--cycle; enddef; initsymbol("p_hammer"); let p_hammer = p_hammer; endcode PS : I sent an drawing of the symbol as a join image
Very good suggestion, but what keyword (in english) is used for such place? Could it be a "probe"? Regards, S. On Fri, Apr 4, 2008 at 7:11 PM, Gilbert Fernandes (mailinglist) <gfe_list@aliceadsl.fr> wrote:

For English I don't know, may be an english speluncer can respond. For French, you can put "désobstruction" (or "désob" which is shorter, it's a nickname). Is there an english in the mailing list ? How do we call a galery we have to dig, to remove stone, clay to pass threw a new gallery ? Thanks, Gilbert Stacho Mudrak a écrit :

Hi! In Sweden we make use of several accented letters i.e. ÅÄÖ and åäö. Therion doesn't support these by default, so i reckon I'll have to do some configuration by myself. Unfortunally I don't understand the instructions in appendix of thbook. Can anyone help me out? // Roger Johansson No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG. This is strange - I have just tested these characters (copied from this mail and pasted to xtherion) and they worked (in UTF-8 encoding). Could you please send us some input files, where these characters do not work? Thanks, S. On Tue, Apr 8, 2008 at 10:33 AM, Roger Johansson <johroger@gmail.com> wrote:

I restarted Therion and then it worked. Strange but lucky for me. However, while typing on keyboard whitin the Therion software - when typing å I'll get ĺ and when typing Å I get Ĺ. Ä,ö,Ä end Ö works fine! In order to write åÅ in my data files I have to use an external text editor.

Do you also get ĺ if you just paste (not type) å into text editor? If not, then you just need to configure keyboard encoding. This is probably cp1250 which is obviously not correct. Just edit C:/Program files/therion/xtherion.ini file and uncomment following line: ## input keyboard encoding # set xth(app, sencoding) iso8859-2 and set this encodings to: ## input keyboard encoding set xth(app, sencoding) cp1252 (Or whatever windows codepage you are using) and I believe it will work. And if you will add also this line to xtherion.ini: lappend xth(kbencodings) cp1252 you should be able to change system encoding at runtime using Window->KBD Encoding menu item. If modifiing xtherion.ini and restarting xtherion will not help, please let me know. Regards, S. On Tue, Apr 8, 2008 at 2:20 PM, Roger Johansson <johroger@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks Stacho! Editing the therion.ini file didn't help. But problem is solved, I found the menu in Therion "Window / KBD encoding / cp1250. after changing to UTF-8 all works fine.
