Using the therion 0.3.1 debian packages, I unpacked demo-rabbit from the tar.gz file, ran xtherion, File->Open thconfig from the demo-rabbit directory, and then File->Compile. This stops with an error - the full output cut and pasted from the lower frame is: therion 0.3.1 initialization file: /etc/therion.ini reading open file -- /etc/therion.ini close file -- /etc/therion.ini configuration file: thconfig reading open file -- thconfig close file -- thconfig reading input -- rabbit.th open file -- rabbit.th open file -- rabbit.th2 therion (therion.cxx:332): error -- (thdatareader.cxx:213): rabbit.th2 [708] -- (thline.cxx:370): invalid number -- horizontal Line 708 of rabbit.th2 says "adjust horizontal". If I remove this, I get an error for a later line which says "adjust vertical". Searching the manual for "adjust", "horizontal", or "vertical" doesn't turn up anything useful. Cheers, Olly

I'm really sorry for this. Adjust horizontal/vertical is a feature of 0.3.3 version which hasn't been released yet (it allows to produce exactly horizontal/vertical lines in the elevation or section even after the scrap distortion). Stacho was too happy to implement it that he updated the example to use this feature. None of us noticed that the corresponding therion is not available yet :( Until the 0.3.3 version comes, there will be old rabbit cave demo on the web page. Regards, Martin

Thankyou - it now processes for me. One question I have though - why is the elevation in the map editor drawn rotated 90 degrees? That would seem to make is much harder to draw unless there's some "view rotated" option, which I can't see to find. Cheers, Olly

The reason is very simple. In the original scan - it was drawn on the border of the paper rotated 90degrees to the plan. The plan was drawn beside. And I was too lazy to split this scan into two separate bitmaps and rotate one of them 90 degrees. Now it looks very strange, I agree :( May be if original scan will be included, it can help.

There is no such an option. If you have such a problem (image rotation, scaling, color adjustments), it is very easy to do these bitmap transformations in some picture editor (e.g. gimp or photoshop) and load it into xtherion already prepared. Than you can draw it natural way. Regards, S. -=x=- Skontrolované antivírovým programom NOD32

Ah, I see.

Probably - it's hard to know why it's like that otherwise. Incidentally why is the "load without images" menu option called "Open XP"? It's not at all self-documenting, and even having looked up the function in the manual, the name isn't obvious to me. My best guess is it's short for "Open eXcluding Pictures". I realise you want to avoid turning a menu entry into an essay, but something like "Open without pictures" or "Open (no pics)" would still be reasonably short while making the function obvious.

Sure. I only went looking for it because I didn't think someone would have drawn the elevation sideways! Cheers, Olly

Your guess is correct :)

"Open (no pics)" sounds much better, I agree. Will be changed in next version. Thanks, S. -=x=- Skontrolované antivírovým programom NOD32
