Really nobody trying Inkscape as map preeditor (excluding areas, slope ticks and line point subtypes) for xtherion? I made three conversions from Illustrator files to Therion and it is very promissing combination! You may add Therion object(s) property manualy in "Object properties" menu or by help of Therion extensions. Save final drawing as .th2 file and continue in Xtherion. .th2 file is possible to open in Inkscape. Objects (areas, ...) are just ignored. There is one limitation - If there are areas you should check if ID of lines don't include "--" string (double dash). If so one have to search/replace them in plain text editor to "_" (underscore), edit in Inkscape and again replace "_" by "--" before opening in Xtherion. Martin S.
I am using the Inkscape plug-in to convert drawings done in other software into Therion. I thought I already posted to the list about this. I am only bringing in the passage walls and survey centreline for the purpose of generating a lox model. Inkscape is a great tool for selecting lines by style to separate them from other lines in a complex drawing, and is also a good way to divide the larger drawing up into separate parts to make scraps for Therion. As someone who has no experience with svg and inkscape I am a little confused (although probably quite slow on the uptake). I gather from the posts that Inkscape with the help of Thomas' plugin helps; 1. convert existing electronic vector cave drawings to therion scraps (and hence any therion output once you have converted the survey or at least two point coordinates) 2. allow therion centrelines and scraps to be parsed to inkscape and back to therion So this means that inkscape can be used as a slightly more wysiwyg editor than xtherion. I'm assuming an easier to use more intuitive interface as well. I am trying to discern the significance of Martins picture4 and picture5 that appear to represent the same passage. Are they Inkscape drawings before parsing to therion? Are they therion output svg files with two different symbol sets? Is one an inkscape drawing as input and one the same drawing after being modified or morphed by therion? I am wondering if there is more to it than the two points above. Could therion be thought of as an editor (or manager/modifier) for inkscape/svg drawings? Ie The 'primary' drawing is done in inkscape/svg using fancy inkscape symbols including some that have no equivalent in therion, and therion is just used to attach a survey centreline to allow the original inkscape drawing to be morphed? (and of course add all those other therion data management and output formats to the inkscape cave project). And not necessarily having to use metapost code to define symbol appearance? Or not? Bruce

But how has you got the station Points and the Centerline to Inkscape? I have tried it in this way: I have generated a th2-File only with Station Points, walls. The "picture" in Inkscape was ok, but without station Points and centerline. May it be possible to send your th2-file from the scrap in picture no.5, please. I would like to see, how it looks in txt, what is converted from inkscape to Therion. Thanks! There is only diference you add atributes to objekt. Draw line and set type to "wall". Point is small circle in inkscape but save as .th2 will interprete is correctly. Odesláno z iPhonu 13. 1. 2012 v 3:54, Bertrand HAUSER <bertrand@descente-canyon.com>:
