The following code changes the colour (and shape) of the grid lines, but not the grid coordinate text (which frustrates me). 

I notice that my grid IS under the text.

Compiled with 5.3.9, but it is the same code I have been using since Dec 2007, and it has worked fine on every version since.

As you can see, grid bottom does place the grid below both the cave passage and label entities.
