--></style></head><body lang=EN-NZ link="#467886" vlink="#96607D" style='word-wrap:break-word'><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal>Does anyone notice a long delay after pressing the compile button in XTherion, before the Therion cmd window starts echoing processing progress?<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Any suggestions as to cause and possible solutions?<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Interested in setups that do and do not exhibit this behaviour.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Around October last year I swapped out my aging Win10 device for a fast new Win11 device.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Soon after I noticed that XTherion would ‘hang’ for 5 – 7 seconds before opening the cmd window that echos Therion’s progress through the thconf process.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>It was around the time that changes were being made to the behaviour of the cmd window, circa 6.3.3+ and I loosely attributed the lag in processing to that. Especially since otherwise Therion would process the thconfigs 2x to 10x faster than with my old device.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I’ve recently being editing projects and needing to compile then every 15 - 30 seconds. The 6 s lag has become tiresome, especially for small runs that otherwise take less than 1 s!<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Thinking might be a change in Therion I just installed versions back as far as 6.0.5 from around February 2022. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The problem persisted so I conclude the lag is due to Win11 or something to do with my current device, and not due to Therion.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I’ve had a browse through Windows Security Smart Application Control and Reputation-based Protection, and disabling likely settings has had no impact.
